Homemade Music is a Nottingham based imprint, comprising of bedroom producers and independent beatmakers from across the UK. One of the fundamental concepts behind Homemade Music is individuality - flowing through uncut beats, intricate rhythms and experimental music. This was communicated through the branding we developed by taking a relaxed approach to the execution of the lettering, ensuring there was a hand-drawn feel.
An “ambigram”, from the Latin ‘ambi’ meaning both and ‘gram’ meaning letter, is a word or words that can be read in more than one orientation, for example where the word, when turned upside down, can be read the same or form an entirely new word. With the logo being produced for use on vinyl records, the readability of the logo from multiple angles is a great feature of the design.

Ambigram
'An ambigram (from Latin: ambi both + gram = letter) is a word or words that can be read in more than one direction, where the word reads the same when upside down or turn over to form an entirely new word.'
With the logo being produced for a lot of use on Vinyl records I imagined the logo being read from both sides of the plate giving you a logo that reads upside down.
